French Fried Onions

Ingredients

3 Large Onions

2 cups milk (any kind)

2 cups all purpose flours

Pinch of Salt

Vegetable Oil for frying

Spice Pack: (Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Ground Pepper)

Directions

  1. Cut the onions into thin rings

  2. Soak the onions in your choice of milk for at least 5 minutes

  3. Combine flour, salt, and spice pack in a large bowl

  4. Add onions to the dry ingredients one handful at a time and toss them to coat them in the flour mixture

  5. Heat the oil in a large skillet and fry the onions in batches, cooking them until they are evenly browned

  6. Remove onions with a slotted spoon or tongs as they are finished and transfer to a towel-lined plate to dry

  7. Season with salt as desired and Enjoy!

Notes

I have done this recipe with regular milk and plain almond milk and both options worked great! I’ve also heard that buttermilk makes them even tastier so I’m going to try that next :)
